Although the Bahasa Malaysia (BM) in Terengganu indicates the influence from East coast BM which is very different from the standard BM in some pronunciation and accent, generally BM is understandable through the entire state. On the other hand, nearly everybody speaks some English except remoter in the rural areas, however, it is no harm to grasp some simple BM with you along the way when traveling in this land.
